To say the least, Earth Day didn’t turn out very successful.
Even though the 70′s saw a number of crises that seemed as if it might create radical transformations in Americans’ relationship with the environment, particularly the two oil crises and rising gas prices that began to spur government investment in alternative fuels, the nation quickly backed away from anything more than cosmetic changes to the national lifestyle.
Today, it seems that hardly anyone cares about global warming, a highly debunked issue.
